‘Let The Ocean Take Me’ — the certified classic album by Australian metalcore band The Amity Affliction turns 10 this year. Receiving the anniversary tour treatment, the band have embarked on a massive North American headliner bringing with them Currents, Dying Wish, and Mugshot. On April 27th, the ‘Let The Ocean Take me 10th Anniversary Tour’ made its way to Hard Rock Live in Wheatland, CA.

After three incredible sets by openers Mugshot, Dying Wish, and Currents, the Australian icons were up next. ‘Let The Ocean Take Me’ is personally one of my top 10 favorite records to come out of the ’10s decade. Talking to those in the front row before the set began, I got the same sentiment from a lot of those in attendance. It was a special album and emotions were already high before the band even took the stage.

My favorite part overall about Amity‘s set is that they performed ‘Let The Ocean Take Me’ in its entirety from start to finish. The set list wasn’t a mixed blend with newer songs being sprinkled in between tracks from the album. With the band opening the set with the album’s opener “Pittsburgh”, it immediately felt like I was experiencing the album for the first time again. Also getting to hear songs like “Lost & Fading”, “The Weigh Down” and “F.M.L.” being played live again was a great feeling.

After the band finished performing the album, the second half of the set featured performances of some of the Amity‘s biggest hits throughout the rest of their discography. Fans were treated with performances of “I See Dead People”, “Drag The Lake”, “All My Friends Are Dead”, “Like Love”, “Open Letter”, “It’s Hell Down Here”, and set closer “Soak Me In Bleach”.
