Today marks a milestone for new-age metalcore pioneers Architects with the surprise release of their latest single, “Animals”.
Unorthodox and revitalizing, “Animals” doesn’t feature the brutal, aggressive screams or bone-crushing riffs listeners might typically think of when they think of Architects; the band’s first release since their 2018 album ‘Holy Hell’ throws a complete curveball to the sound that’s not only regarded them as trendsetters of their genre, but that’s been replicated and remodeled throughout the spectrum of heavy music.
Stimulating discourse from a dispirited stance, the accompaniment to the song’s ambient, electronically-charged atmosphere inspires reconciliation with tribulation, dark and dismal headspace, and feelings of hopelessness.
“Animals” is a convergence for fans of rock, metalcore, and everything in between with catchy and anthemic delivery that gets better with every replay. The band has yet to give information on any future collection of work, but listeners are surely speculating the next addition to Architects‘ extensive catalogue.
