TALLAH RELEASES VISCERAL NEW SINGLE “VANILLA PASTE” FT. TOM BARBER, AJ CHANNER, & GARETT HOOD

Nu-metalcore newcomers Tallah have dropped their first single following 2020’s debut album ‘Matriphagy’ titled “Vanilla Paste”. The track is a 6-minute-plus opus, weaving an intricate journey through the band’s experimental homage to the nu-metal pioneers and modern deathcore bands that are influential on the band’s sound and inspiration. The single sounds unhinged, drenched with pure brutality and a sinister-looking music video to match. The band also announced that they’re are currently in the studio recording their sophomore album set to release in 2022, produced by Josh Schroeder.

Vanilla Paste” features high-profile guest vocal performances from AJ Channer (Fire From The Gods), Tom Barber (Chelsea Grin, Darko), and Garett Hood (Guerilla Warfare), who all absolutely kill it with their vocal spots and add to the already incredibly chaotic nature of the song. Since the release of ‘Matriphagy’, the band became a sextet, adding DJ & turntable artist Mewzen alongside shredder Alex Snowden on guitar, further filling out the band’s already massive wall of sound and injecting even more life into an already energetic track and performances. Frontman and vocalist Justin Bonitz (Hungry Lights) delivers another incredible vocal display, further proving he is one of the best vocalists in modern metal with an incredible range of screams and powerhouse clean vocals alongside his signature maniacal and theatrical stage persona.

Speaking about the new single, Bonitz stated,

“The song is basically about having bullshit forced down your throat, whether it is lies from the media, unimportant drama, abuse from a significant other, etc. “Vanilla Paste” represents something you a digesting, which has no nutritional value or substance. It is just… flavoured paste. It tastes sweet and stimulates your senses, but it is not actually doing anything for you. You cannot survive off of nothing, and that is what that crap is… nothing. In this song, we have people who have been fed this “nothing” their whole lives, and they are tired of it. They are ready to make a change.”

The guest vocalists on the track also had praise to give about the rising new band, with Fire From The Gods vocalist, AJ Channer stating :

Alex Snowden of Tallah and FFTG go way back to our first “signed” tour when she was in Doll Skin. I truly respect her evolution as a guitar player. When they asked me to be on this track I had to hop on. I respect what they are doing as a band. Looking forward to see how they fit into the new heavy sound. Peace.”

Garett Hood of Guerrilla Warfare stated:

“[I] Was flattered to be asked to hop on the track by cooper, he sent me the instrumental and I listened about 10 seconds in before sending back, “YEP. Lemme spit somethin on this FOR SURE.”

Honoured to be a part of such a wild track with some incredibly talented people. Side note: Tallah are some of the sweetest and most impressive live performing musicians I’ve met to date, go see em on tour.”

Tom Barber of Chelsea Grin added:

“I’m happy to be part of a song from a band who’s really pushing the boundaries of this genre. It’s truly a breath of fresh air.”

Mateo Ottie I make loud guitar noises and have unpopular opinions. If it’s underground alternative or progressive metal, I probably like it.
