Hollow Front have announced their fourth studio album, ‘No Love Without Despair’, set for an independent release on December 11.
The announcement follows the recent return of vocalist Dakota Alvarez, who rejoined the band earlier this month and appeared on their latest single, “So Long To Yesterday.” Alvarez had previously stepped away from the group following significant health complications, including an ischemic stroke.
‘No Love Without Despair’ also marks a major change behind the scenes for Hollow Front, with the band revealing that the entire album campaign has been created without label or management backing.
The band says the album, recording, artwork, music videos and merchandise have all been independently funded, describing the project as a reflection of their decision to continue despite the uncertainty surrounding their future.
“The last few years tested this band in ways we never could have imagined. There were times we genuinely didn’t know if Hollow Front had a future. Against all odds, we’re still here, making music together again with Dakota back where he belongs.
‘No Love Without Despair’ and everything surrounding it was made and fully funded by us, with zero label or management backing. From the recording and artwork to the videos and merch, this has been a completely DIY effort. It represents our refusal to give up despite everything we’ve been through and our belief that creating and sharing music is still what we’re meant to do.

The record follows Hollow Front’s 2023 full-length, ‘The Fear of Letting Go’, and arrives during a renewed chapter for the Michigan metalcore band following Alvarez’s return.
‘No Love Without Despair’ arrives independently on December 11.
