New Jersey melodic hardcore band Life Itself are propagating the need for escapism and uprising with the release of their new single, “Away From It All”, premiering today exclusively on CaliberTV. The track features vocalist of Connecticut metalcore quintet Currents, Brian Wille.
Everyone can agree a majority of 2020’s internet discourse has revolved around topics like the pandemic and Black Lives Matter movement, and rightfully so, the video begins with footage reflecting how it’s become normality in the media we scroll through, share, and consume on a daily basis.
A chant of “hands up, don’t shoot”, a phrase that’s been vehemently uttered at many protests, prevails over television static and is the last thing you hear before the song begins.
