Solo artist and Dance Gavin Dance vocalist Tilian returns with the release of his latest single, “Dose”.
Tethered by a resilient vocal melody, the track revolves around the darkened groove of a synth riff; the instrumentation carries equally psychedelic, rock-fueled, and futuristic sci-fi soundtrack ambiences about it.
“‘Dose’ chases the continuance of an emotional high– the addictive relief of attachment, and lyrics like “technically you’re sentient, soon you’ll be ordinary,” and “don’t believe in reason,” speak to the overpowering potency of an all-consuming feeling in the face of logic.
The creative musings poured into “Dose” perplexingly bind a multitude of sounds to yield something Tilian has stated he’s truly proud of, and the track doesn’t fall short of being arguably one of his best singles yet. It’s catchy, and avid enthusiasts of the rock spectrum, pop melody, and even synthwave will find themselves hitting the replay button.
“Dose” was the first thing I dove into after touring was cancelled earlier this year. Though the initial rush of creativity hit like an avalanche, I spent a long time letting the song breathe and grow into what it is now—a piece I am truly proud of.”
