Oxymorrons have returned with new single “Bombs Over Gaza,” the first taste of their forthcoming album, ‘Mohawks & Durags 2: Project Big Apple’.
The New York band continue to blend hip-hop, punk, hardcore and alternative rock on the new track, while incorporating Latin influences and addressing their frustrations with war, division and everyday life in 2026.
“Bombs Over Gaza” draws inspiration from OutKast’s “B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad),” with Oxymorrons citing the influential track’s creative freedom as a blueprint rather than attempting to recreate its sound.
“B.O.G is an audio snapshot of the times we are currently living in. From government health failures, international genocide, the rent being too damn high, and the struggles of day to day life, this song takes the blueprint OutKast laid out with ‘Bombs Over Baghdad’ and brings it into 2026 with the genre bending ethos of OXYMORRONS.”
The single’s artwork, photographed by Norma Ibarra, features a watermelon, drawing upon the fruit’s history as a symbol associated with Palestinian identity and resistance as well as its complicated history within Black American culture.
“Bombs Over Gaza” also arrives alongside a music video filmed at Substance Skate Park in Brooklyn. The visual was directed and produced by VRTU Presents, Urban Soul Productions and ATTN Deficit, with casting done in collaboration with Let ME Rock. The performance-centered video highlights Black and BIPOC members of the punk and alternative community through a mix of live performance, moshing, dancing and skating.
The band will also return to the road this fall, including appearances at Magnolia Park’s Halloween Fest and Vans Warped Tour Orlando, followed by select dates supporting MISSIO through early 2027.
