Holding Absence have released their fourth studio album, ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’, alongside a new music video for “Heaven.”
The 11-track record arrives today, September 18, via Sumerian Records and marks the Welsh post-hardcore band’s first full-length since 2023’s ‘The Noble Art Of Self Destruction’, as well as their first album since signing with Sumerian earlier this year.
Coinciding with the album’s release, “Heaven” serves as the fourth and final single from ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’. Vocalist Lucas Woodland described the track as one that carries the hallmarks of the band’s established sound while incorporating the direction explored throughout the new record.
“For our fourth and final single from MLIL, we’re ecstatic to release our song ‘Heaven’! This one feels like a classic HA song, with a heart-wrenching message and an epic chorus, but of course, repackaged into our newer style.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Danny Land and produced by STORM+SHELTER and Sian Adler.
‘Modern Life Is Lonely’ features previously released singles “Reflection,” “Whisper Of A Dream” and “Lucid Love,” with the record seeing Holding Absence expand their post-hardcore sound through increased use of electronic textures and production.
