My Chemical Romance may not have officially announced their fifth album, but Gerard Way has given fans one of the clearest indications yet that the band wants to make another record.
During the final stop of the band’s Long Live The Black Parade tour in San Antonio, Texas, Way addressed the possibility of new music while speaking to the crowd.
“You guys kept us alive for so long that you deserve another record,” Way told fans, adding that the band would “love to make one soon.”
The comments stop short of confirming that a new album is currently in production, but they offer another sign that My Chemical Romance are interested in continuing to create new material.
A fifth studio album would mark the band’s first full-length since 2010’s ‘Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys’. Since reuniting in 2019, My Chemical Romance have released “The Foundations Of Decay” in 2022, but have yet to follow the single with a new full-length record.
For now, LP5 remains unofficial, but Way’s comments have given fans another reason to believe there could eventually be more to come from My Chemical Romance.
