CALIBER CULTURE: ‘HOT RELEASES WE’RE LOVING’

0

This Friday we released our Caliber Culture playlist, a curated mix of the latest and greatest releases from the world of rock and metal. There’s some absolute anthems and astounding hits in there, but here’s some real shining gems released this week that we just want to shout about because they’re so awesome.

JHARIAH – “DEBT COLLECTOR”

Bronx-based artist Jhariah has been climbing the charts with his greatest success yet, “Debt Collector”. Best described as a climactic anime opening theme track, the dazzling anthem has racked up a clean 60k listens already. It’s a testament to the multi-disciplinary artists hard work and devotion to his craft.

Degrader – “Odogarden”

Boston underdogs Degrader are a shining example of the exciting things to come for heavy music. “Odogarden” is something unfamiliar from the band, trading their usual angsty energy for something more on their melodic side. It’s entrancing, and beautiful. A more vulnerable side to the band.

Catbamboo – “Crave (feat. Kurt Travis)”

If Catbamboo aren’t on your radar yet, put them on your radar immediately. The first few grooves of the bass in “Crave” are enough to make you fall in love. It’s funky and fun, something to add to your car drives.

Siiickbrain – “Power (feat. Pussy Riot)”

Siiickbrain’s latest single is a the badass, destroy the world and take no f-ing prisoners’ banger to keep you going through the mundane work week. The music video – a Fight Club homage that features powerful women – is the epitome of “powerful.” Need something to work out to? This makes for some angry power squats.

Siamese – “Enough Ain’t Enough (feat. Rory Rodriguez of Dayseeker)”

These guys know how to write a catchy chorus huh? Siamese aren’t afraid to venture outside the rules of genre when it comes to heavy music, you’ve got the pop-rock choruses blended with riff-heavy verses and an explosive electronic that sends you straight back to 2010 metalcore.

De’Wayne – “Perfume (feat. Awsten of Waterparks)”

DE’WAYNE’s range is unmatched, coming from his intense, high-energy “I Know Something” release to his new “Perfume” anthem that’s layered with harmonies and is giving us the same vibes as Avril Lavigne’s “I Can Do Better” – is there anything this man can’t do?

FEATURED TRACK OF THE WEEK:
MEET ME @ THE ALTAR – “HIT LIKE A GIRL”

For the Meet Me @ The Altar girls it’s been a busy few month of absolutely owning this industry, they’re racking up achievements like it’s just another day at the job. “Hit Like A Girl” will be the first single since signing to Fueled By Ramen, landing on the cover of every major magazine, and basically becoming the face of new talent for the pop-punk world. This single is an empowering anthem to their female fans, telling them that the sky’s the limit. “Revolt! Refuse!” is a necessary call to action, telling women that they don’t need to be treated any less because they’re a woman. It’s exactly what the industry needs right now and most of all, it’s catchy af. That breakdown? Jeez!
