FOR FANS OF: Movements, Silverstein, Sleeping With Sirens, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Formed in 2018, Queens, New York alternative rock band, Emensia, are a four piece group that fuse elements of pop punk, emo and post hardcore to bring forth an immense amount of energy and emotion. With lyrics inspired by the words “simple, yet meaningful,” they intend to etch their mark deep out of the starting gate through heavily energetic riffs, powerful ballads, anthemic choruses, soaring highs and catchy melodies. Their songs are ones to sing along to as they find a way to resonate with everyone who listens.

WHY DO OUR READERS NEED TO CHECK YOU OUT:

“Although Emensia was officially formed in 2018, our sound is reminiscent of the golden ages of Warped Tour. A lot of the scenes favorite go-to nostalgia bands- like Yellowcard, Pierce the Veil, and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus are just a few examples of ones that we as a collective band all grew up loving and listening to, and Emensia is almost a direct reflection of that with a bit of a fresh take. We fuse different elements of Pop-punk, Post-hardcore and Emo along with a slight hint of progressive composition to put across personal and relatable lyrics to our listeners. Our goal for our future releases along with our debut EP is to be able to have future fans connect and relate to us along with hopefully helping people the same way our influences have for us as not just artists- but people too!”

BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT(S) AS A BAND:

“Our debut as a band was a sold out show, where we were the opener for our friends in Moonfall at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, New York.
We recorded and released our official EP, Redefinition and within the first month surpassed 2,000 streams on all platforms!
We were invited to be part of the Otter House Live, a virtual festival, which airs January 7th-9th!”

THE ONE SONG OUR READERS NEED TO LISTEN TO AND WHY?:

“While “Home” is our single and one we feel is the most personal and easily resonates with listeners from all backgrounds and walks of life, the track “An Architect of Dreams” is probably one of our favorites as a collective band. This record is probably one of the coolest ones off our EP because it’s actually based off of the film Inception. Along with it lyrically differing from the rest of the EP, it’s overall composition and production is really strong and one we hope readers would enjoy as much as we did writing and recording it.”

WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES IN/OUT OF THE SCENE?

“The cool thing about Emensia is that all four of us listen to different types of sounds in the scene. So our influences could range all across the board- My Chemical Romance, Dinosaur Jr., Spiritbox, The Contortionist, Movements, Pierce the Veil, Turnover, and RJA all being examples of the musical diversity found amongst us.”

WHY SHOULD NEW FANS COME SEE YOU LIVE?

“Our goal as a band is to try and make Emensia shows a reflection of the music we put out. While we put a lot of heart and soul into our performances, we still like to keep it as fun and lighthearted as possible. We also consider our shows to be a personal safe space for people of all genders, orientations, races, religions, and everything in between. It’s important for us to have a kind of inclusivity that let’s people know it’s okay to let go, be themselves and have a good time while we play our sets. It’s something about having a personal connection with fans and future fans that we think is really special, not just for us, but to them too.”

DREAM ARTIST(S) TO TOUR WITH IN THE FUTURE?

Being able to tour with anyone in the scene would be amazing, but personally, bands like Movements, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Mayday Parade, Silverstein, Paramore, Pierce the Veil and A Day to Remember would all be a dream come true.”
