We are about 3 weeks away from the return of Shaky Knees Music Festival, located in Atlanta, Georgia running through the weekend of September 18-20th this year. Founded in 2013, the festival takes place at Piedmont Park once again, and it returns with a diverse lineup. Pulling in massive established acts as this year’s headliners, such as The Strokes, Twenty One Pilots, Gorillaz, and underneath them bringing genres from across the spectrum, such as rising phenomenon Turnstile, and other personal recommendations such as Pierce The Veil, Wu-Tang Clan, Knocked Loose, Showing Teeth, Coheed and Cambria and about 50 more acts, there will be something for every one of the roughly 40,000 fans attending.
On top of the regular festival lineup, there are additional aftershows available all around the city to extend the fun later into the night. Atlanta venue staples such as the Masquerade will be hosting Knocked Loose, along with others such as Hot Mulligan, Modest Mouse, Peach Pit, Jimmy Eat World, and more at various locations. Most, if not all, of these shows will run well past midnight so be sure to physically prepare to stay up late to catch these intimate performances.
With very few tickets left for Friday and the rest sold out already, it’s going to be a jam packed weekend in Atlanta. The first day on Friday opens doors at 4:00pm with the first acts taking the stage at 4:30.
