Dragged Under Announce New Album ‘Social Battery: Low,’ Share “Razor’s Edge Collapse”

Dragged Under have announced their third studio album, ‘Social Battery: Low’, set to arrive March 12, 2027 via Mascot Records.

The album marks a reunion for the band, bringing guitarist Ryan “Fluff” Bruce and bassist Hans Hessburg back into the fold alongside vocalist Anthony Cappocchi, guitarist Sean Rosario and drummer Dylan Roy. Bruce and Hessburg departed the group three years ago, leaving the future of Dragged Under uncertain.

Speaking on the reunion, Cappocchi reflected on how time helped repair the relationship between the members.

“I was so mad when they left like that. It took all the fun out of it for me, and all that was left was anger. But with time, the fire turns to embers, the embers turn to ashes, and the ashes turn to dust. Then I was like, ‘What was I mad about in the first place?’ But we couldn’t have done this new album if that hadn’t happened.”

Alongside the album announcement, Dragged Under have shared new single “Razor’s Edge Collapse.” The track was inspired by Cappocchi’s experience living in Seattle and his eventual decision to move away from the city with his family.

Musically, ‘Social Battery: Low’ sees the band building upon the pop-punk and metalcore combination heard throughout their previous releases while expanding into acoustic passages, electronic pop, rap-rock and heavier territory.

The upcoming record follows 2022’s ‘Upright Animals’ and the band’s 2020 debut, ‘The World Is In Your Way’. It also features previously released tracks “Rebel Son Rise!”, “Brainrot” and “AlgoRHYTHM”, alongside guest appearances from Marrow and PINKNOISE.

Cappocchi says reuniting the band’s core lineup has brought a renewed energy to the group.

“Our band was never better than it was with our core members — me, Sean, Hans, and Fluff. In a way, it’s like mom and dad got back together. And since they’ve been back, those dudes have been as committed to Dragged Under and as stoked about it as they were when they first joined.”
