Imminence are bringing the world of their upcoming album, ‘Axis Mundi’, to the big screen with a new companion film.
Created alongside Sumerian Pictures and Sumerian Records, the ‘Axis Mundi’ film will receive a series of exclusive theatrical screenings shortly before the album arrives October 2. U.S. screenings are scheduled for September 29, followed by select screenings across the UK, Europe and Australia on October 1.
Speaking on the announcement, guitarist Harald Barrett said:
“Someone told us: ‘You’re such a cinematic band, you should take it to the next step and make a movie.’ You can’t just say that to a band like IMMINENCE.“
The film will bring together the visual narrative Imminence have developed throughout the ‘Axis Mundi’ era while offering fans an early opportunity to hear previously unreleased music from the album. The screenings will culminate with the final chapter of the story ahead of the record’s release.
‘Axis Mundi’ continues an ambitious period for the Swedish metalcore band, who have increasingly paired their music with cinematic visuals throughout the rollout of the new record.
