BLINDWOLF PREMIERE NEW SINGLE “LIVING WITH MY GHOSTS” + RELEASE DEBUT EP ‘REVIVAL’ (TRACK ANALYSIS)
Orange County metalcore outfit blindwolf are bringing another dose of honesty and attitude with “Living with my ghosts”, the single commemorating the release of the band’s debut EP, ‘Revival’.
Seconds after an apprehensive guitar melody, vocalist Nathan Mead shouts his frustrations into the void. Critical, raw self-reflection and circumventing obstacles thematically persist throughout the EP, speaking to the device blindwolf use to foster genuine relatability through their music.
The intrigue coming from both instrumentation and vocals in the song strike a precise balance, with the bends and dissonance residing in moments of guitar riffs and pounding percussion keeping the song’s space occupied with ferocity while leaving room for Mead‘s lyricism and delivery to resonate however listeners see fit.
Dayshell frontman Shayley Bourget embellishes the climatic moment of “Living with my ghosts” with a delicate, ambient, yet somber voice that builds tension for a moment before powerfully echoing aggression in tandem with Mead and a guitar lick fuelled by groove.
The ‘Revival’ EP boasts collaboration with artists in post-hardcore and metalcore, including Rory Rodriguez of Dayseeker, Juan Guttierez of A Friend A Foe, and ex-On The Shoulders Of Atlas vocalist, Ryan Halvaks.
