‘The Devil Wears Prada Is Eternal Tour’ Featuring The Devil Wears Prada, Silent Planet, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Like Moths To Flames, and Greyhaven – St. Petersburg, FL – 11.10.24
The metalcore scene in St. Petersburg came alive at Jannus Live on November 10, 2024, as fans packed into the iconic outdoor venue for a night of heavy riffs, breakdowns, and raw energy. Headlined by The Devil Wears Prada, the lineup also included Greyhaven, Like Moths to Flames, Seeyouspacecowboy…, and Silent Planet. From start to finish, it was a night that showcased the genre’s versatility and delivered an unforgettable experience.
Greyhaven kicked off the night, immediately setting a high bar for what was to come. Their blend of chaotic post-hardcore and groove-driven metal was a perfect opener, with the crowd already moshing and shouting along to every scream from vocalist Brent Mills. Despite being the first band, their performance was anything but a warm-up act, commanding the stage with confidence and energy that got the crowd moving.
Next up was Like Moths to Flames, who continued the high-energy assault. Their setlist was a mix of old favorites and a couple tracks from their latest album ‘The Cycles Of Trying To Cope’. Lead singer Chris Roetter’s guttural screams and melodic choruses had the crowd chanting every word. The breakdowns were brutal, and it was clear the fans came prepared to unleash pent-up energy, as the pit grew wider and the crowd surfing began. This set felt like a turning point in the night, amping up the anticipation for the remaining acts.
SeeYouSpaceCowboy… followed, bringing their unique fusion of hardcore punk and metalcore. Connie Sgarbossa’s vocal delivery was relentless, and the band’s chaotic, yet precise, sound brought an almost palpable intensity to the venue. The band’s genre-bending style was a standout of the night, and the crowd responded with an outpouring of enthusiasm, opening up circle pits and sending a stream of crowd surfers over the barricade.
As the show progressed, Silent Planet took the stage with an atmospheric opening that quickly gave way to crushing heaviness. Frontman Garrett Russell’s poetic lyrics resonated with the crowd, blending moments of introspection with raw power. The band’s dynamic range, from soft spoken-word segments to explosive breakdowns, kept the crowd on edge. Fans were fully immersed, responding with synchronized headbanging and even more crowd surfing.
Finally, The Devil Wears Prada hit the stage, and the crowd erupted with cheers. The veteran metalcore band showed why they’ve remained a staple in the scene for nearly two decades. Their set was a balanced mix of classic hits like “Danger: Wildman” and new tracks from their latest album, each song met with a wave of crowd surfers and massive mosh pits. Vocalists Mike Hranica and Jeremy DePoyster had an electric stage presence, and alternated seamlessly between guttural screams and melodic singing. The synergy between the band members was evident, delivering a polished yet raw performance that connected deeply with the fans.
The highlight of their set was undoubtedly the live rendition of “Sacrifice,” which had the entire venue singing along with confetti falling. The energy never let up, with drummer Giuseppe Capolupo anchoring the band’s powerful sound. By the time they closed the show with “Hey John, What’s Your Name Again?,” the crowd was drenched in sweat but still begging for more.
Overall, this was a night of pure metalcore bliss. Each band brought their own flavor to the stage, contributing to a diverse yet cohesive lineup. The fans fed off the bands’ energy, creating an atmosphere of unity and raw excitement. Jannus Live was the perfect venue, allowing the crowd to get up close and personal with the performers. From the first note to the last, it was a show that left fans exhilarated and eager for the next tour stop.
If you’re a fan of heavy music, this tour is not to be missed. It’s a testament to the enduring appeal and evolving sound of metalcore in 2024.
