GALLERY: ‘The Neon Noir Tour’ Featuring Ville Valo & Kaelan Mikla – Orlando, FL – 4.30.23
Ville Valo is a Finnish singer, mostly known from his band HIM. Valo kicked off his very first U.S tour as VV named after his debut album ‘The Neon Noir Tour’ earlier this month after going solo in 2020. On April 30th VV found his way to the Orlando House Of Blues, along with direct support from the Icelandic trio post-punk band Kaelan Mikla on this tour.
Firstly The three piece band Kaelan Mikla opened up the show, they had everyone cheering and set the right mood for the show. All of their songs were sung in Icelandic which gave the crowd something new and unexpected, everyone loved it. They ended their set with “Hvítir Sandar” a song filled with synths and a darkwave vibe to it leaving the fans speechless,
As Ville Valo took the stage in Orlando, the crowd was full of energy. VV opened the set with “Echolocate Your Love”which is the first track from his most recent album ‘Neon Noir’. Ville had a wide variety of songs on his 18 song set alternating between various HIM songs and VV’s solo project, attracting both the HIM and VV fanbase.
Ville had kept the crowd on their toes by playing all the fan favorite HIM songs such as “The Kiss Of Dawn” and “Join Me In Death” which had the crowd screaming the lyrics back to the band. Needless to say VV has left the fans happy and excited for any upcoming material he puts out in the future.
