‘It Calls Me By Name Tour’ Featuring Wage War, Nevertel & Orthodox — Sacramento, CA — 5.3.26
Ocala, FL metalcore band Wage War are currently on a 21-date headlining tour in celebration of their newly released EP, ‘It Calls Me By Name‘ bringing with them two of the genre’s fastest-rising acts, Orthodox and Nevertel. On May 3, the ‘It Calls Me By Name’ Tour stopped at Ace of Spades in Sacramento, CA for a stacked night of heavy music.
Kicking the night off, Orthodox immediately turned the room into chaos with insane hardcore energy, aggressive callouts, and nonstop crowd surfers flying over the barricade from the jump. Nevertel switched things up with a melodic but energetic set, bringing huge choruses, strong fan interaction, and even a guest vocalist appearance that got the crowd fired up throughout their performance.
Closing out the night, Wage War took over the swamp-themed stage inspired by the visual style of ‘It Calls Me By Name’. Opening with “4×4,” the band wasted no time showcasing their newest material. Even with the show centered around the latest EP, the setlist still represented every era of the band’s career. One of the biggest surprises came early in the set when Wage War performed the fan-favorite throwback “Alive” — the OGs in the crowd really appreciated this one. Other highlights included staples like “BLUR,” “Don’t Let Me Fade Away,” “Low,” “Gravity,” “Stitch,” and “Manic.”After a brief exit, the band returned to close the night with two more tracks from the new EP: “BLINDFOLD” and “SONG OF THE SWAMP.”
Wage War and company delivered a night full of crushing breakdowns and massive singalongs that kept Sacramento moving from start to finish. The tour served as another reminder that metalcore’s current wave is thriving.
