FOR FANS OF: Panic! At The Disco, My Chemical Romance, iDKHOW, Bear Ghost

In the spirit of all things spooky, Bronx-based artist JHARIAH released his Halloween special Knives are Dangerous, Kid, So Cut the Theatrics!”, a theatrical thriller-ballad that’s the, Panic! At The Disco’s eccentric nature meets Ice Nine Kills‘ lyrical play on horror,  mash up you never knew you needed.

Speaking about his time creating the track, JHARIAH says:

“I wanted to do something special for Halloween. Cole and I tackled it together, the arrangement was already there so I asked him if he wanted to just take that and go crazy with it… I guess I never specified how crazy, so he took that and ran with it.

I took a lot of inspiration from My Chemical Romance and Panic! At The Disco. I remember hearing about how they recorded like 30 stacks of harmonies for certain parts of “Emperor’s New Clothes” and it had never even occurred to me to go that far before. This song finally gave me the chance to really go wild with it and throw a ridiculous amount of vocal stuff at it.”

If you’ve never heard of JHARIAH (where have you been?), he’s a New York musician and animator. Wielding genres like a mad magician, pulling new trick out of his hat with every track, you never know what you’re going to get. Always keeping busy, if he’s not animating his own lyric and music videos he’s crafting powerballads that could work on Broadway, but keep the spirit of all things emo alive and well.

You may know him from the recent success of his track “SPLIT!” that garnered him a comfortable 9,000 streams and 1.4k views on the lyric video.
