9 ERRA Continues To Dominate The Genre With ‘silence outlives the earth’
Prog metalcore heavyweights ERRA have returned with their seventh studio album, titled ‘silence outlives the earth’. This marks their first release since 2024’s ‘Cure’. This album really dives back into what makes this band so special to the genre and how unique they continue to build upon their sound. They manage to keep things fresh in a repetitive sort of genre, and the qualities they keep really show why they’re some of the best in our scene.
Vocalists Jesse Cash and JT Cavey both give such an identity to this record by doing what they do best. Jesse shines especially in tracks like “black cloud” and “iii. twilight in the reflection of dreams”. His voice continues to be so unique and carries a weight to all of these tracks, as well as his guitar work really shining in songs like “echo sonata” and “further eden”. You can really see just how multi-faceted he is and just how much he brings to the band. JT also does a great job on here and shines in songs like “gore of being” and “i. the many names of god”. He really knows how to let out pure rage and intensity when he needs to, and brings what the song needs every time. The two of them really do feel perfect together and create a pretty flawless combo, where they provide such contrast and it shows in spades throughout this entire record.

The band also knows how to create a sense of environment and setting in a song like “cicada siren”. It makes them such a special band where these songs feel like they take you on a journey throughout the entire album. The choruses feel like they’re made to be sung loud, and to be stuck in your head over and over again. The final three tracks really make it feel like such a finale, as each song makes it flow pretty seamlessly sound wise to end it on a high note. The penultimate track really gives such Cyberpunk vibes, and provides enough melody near the end to set the stage for the final track. It really does feel like this band took what they tried on the previous record and refined it enough to make it even better to essentially one up themselves yet again.
So all in all, I really do think ‘silence outlives the earth’ is a big step up from ERRA’s last record. It continues to show off the growth and fresh type of metalcore they bring, even in 2026. The genre continues to be stronger and better with them upfront and really better than ever.
